On the 31st of May, Brewer and alcoholic drinks company, Lion, held its annual Supplier of the Year Awards in a hybrid Sydney and Auckland livestream.
The ceremony welcomed Lion’s suppliers from Australia and New Zealand and those who have supported the brewer’s growth in the United States, paying tribute to their partnership throughout the last two years.
These awards are about celebrating the invaluable role they have played in keeping the beer flowing for us across our markets, Lion CEO Stuart Irvine said.
“Fire, flood, pandemic and war – we have had it all and our suppliers know better than most the huge effect this has had on supply chains,” Irvine said.
“Whether it’s price, availability, or transport, they have been unwavering in their commitment to working towards our objectives with us.”
Visy Glass was recognised for consistently exceeding expectations and its best service levels to Lion in terms of performance, quality, and customer service.
Think Beyond, Adapt and Innovate Award recognised the creative thinking and problem solving demonstrated by M.E. Engineering. M.E. Engineering enabled efficiency gains, cost savings and other innovative solutions for Lion.
As they evolve as a business, they are focused on searching for transformational innovation while working towards its sustainability commitments, Lion chief supply chain officer Mauricio Ferreira said.
“Our progress against all these initiatives would not be possible without the partnership and collaboration from our suppliers. These awards are celebrating all they do to make our business hum – even in adversity,” Ferreira said.
WestRock, Barrett Burston Malting, Gladfield Malt, Henning Harders and Dimeo also were acknowledged with category awards during the ceremony.
The category awards across packaging, ingredients, logistics, engineering services and site services recognised suppliers who performed the best in delivery performance, quality, customer service, commercials, and feedback.
